Scott Brown holds a Bachelor of Teaching Secondary degree from Western Sydney University and a Bachelor of Asian and International Studies degree with sub majors in Philosophy and Health Communications from Western Sydney University.
As the managing director of Strong’s Security Services, Scott has completed and delivered security risk assessments and security risk reviews for the Crown Solicitors Office, the Jewish community schools and synagogues, Whitehaven Coal, Idemitsu Boggabri Coal, various NRMA Branches, NCR, AAMI, and a number of auction and jewellery businesses.
Scott has a long and extensive history teaching both for the Department of Education at Winmalee High School (10 years teaching; Legal Studies, HSIE, History, Japanese and PDHPE) and teaching and delivering Security and Security Risk Management training for various RTOs as well as lecturing for Sydney TAFE, Ultimo in security studies, security risk management, armed robbery mitigation and a Professional Development Course for NSW Health Hospital Security Teams .
More recently Scott has assisted TAFE NSW in the development and delivery of a three day Professional Development Course for some 900 NSW Health Security managers and security officers. The key learning areas within the course involved (but were not limited to): developing effective communications with Health management and clinicians, security team work and security team communications, mental health and trauma-based health issues regarding security service delivery, the legislative and compliance framework for security services, including powers of arrest, use of force, de-escalation of conflict and security risk management.
Scott is an accredited firearms instructor with NSW Police, delivering tactical firearms training to security officers and public law enforcement officers.
Scott founded Strong’s Security Services in 1987. Over the past 30 years the business has provided off the shelf and customised security services to its customers and has maintained an impeccable reputation for outcome delivery and attention to detail. It is no secret that Strong’s staff are afforded superior working conditions and, for that, are required to maintain standards second to none. It has been a simple yet very effective model that has afforded Scott a clear insight into the legislative, regulatory and compliance areas around the delivery of high-end security servicers.
Strong’s Security is a current member of ASIAL as well as ASIS and holds a Master Security Licence and Company Firearms Licence in NSW.
Scott has implemented a holistic and highly pragmatic approach to his teaching of high school students and lecturing in security studies incorporating a mindfulness based structure on how students can approach their respective discipline, this comes from a 40 year history in the study and practice of classical Japanese martial arts, Asian contemplative practices and western philosophical concepts based on sound neuroscience principles.
